The Metallurgical hydrogen as an indicator and cause of damage to rolled steel: Hydrogen diagnostics of fracture

Fatigue tests and measurements of the volumetric distribution metallurgical hydrogen in specimens cut from rolled I-beam 60Sh3 made steel 10KhSND were carried out. show a 20% reduction fatigue limits compared to similar sheet material. On fractures samples, there are flock-like defects areas interface flanges I-beam, or so-called zones difficult deformation. The concentration is unevenly distributed varies 0.17 ppm 1.8 ppm. Large concentrations observed deformation, which indicates nature metal at fracture. result mechanical diagnostics manufacturing defect products that cannot be corrected. Hydrogen using (without charging samples) takes tens times less time than tests, gives an adequate result.
